CAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria (Postgraduate)
The eligibility criteria for the CAT exam are designed for graduates from any academic discipline.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent qualification) from a recognized university.
Minimum Marks: A minimum of 50% aggregate marks or an equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is required in the Bachelor’s degree.
Relaxation: The minimum percentage is 45% for candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories.
Final Year Students: Students in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply, provided they submit proof of completion within the timeline specified by the respective IIMs.
Age Limit/Attempts: There is no age limit and no restriction on the number of attempts for the CAT exam.
